With the aim of increasing green cover, fostering an environmental consciousness, and contributing to the achievement of carbon neutrality by 2050, Peng Huoth Group is pleased to have collaborated with the Kampot Provincial Department of Environment, the Kampong Trach District Administration, and the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN) to successfully organize the “1,000 Trees of Sustainability” tree-planting program.
This meaningful event is part of the “Green Sprouts” campaign launched by the Ministry of Environment to implement the Circular Strategy on Environment. The tree-planting ceremony was held on the morning of June 29, 2026, within the compound of the Phnom Kampong Trach resort area, a site with high tourism potential that serves as an important habitat for biodiversity, research, and tourism. On this occasion, Mr. Eng Polo, Director of the Kampot Provincial Department of Environment, encouraged the public by stating: “During this rainy season, let us all participate in planting trees to contribute to achieving carbon neutrality by 2050 and increasing green cover.”
The tree-planting event saw active participation and commitment from the Kampot Provincial Department of Environment, the Kampong Trach District Administration, Buddhist monks, village-commune authorities, civil defense forces, teachers, students, youth, local residents, and community members—totaling approximately 500 participants. A total of 1,000 saplings were planted, including 400 sugar palm trees, 200 Hopea odorata (Koki) trees, 200 Dipterocarpus (Chheu Teal) trees, and 200 flame trees (Kngork).
Let us all join together in planting trees. This effort does not only help protect natural resources but also cultivates a green legacy and promotes sustainable local tourism and a healthier planet.
